Goddu rasam

 We   prepare rasam daily  since  we are addict to rasam, daily   a variety  of rasam  will be prepared in  our house. This one is very  easy   and  tasty rasam :


 Ingredients :
Tamarind   -   1  small gooseberry size
Tomato - 1 
Rasa powder / sambar powder   - 1/2 tsp
 Salt - to taste
 hing  -little
Thur dal  - 1 tsp
 Garlic  - 2 pods (optional)
 Curry leaves, coriander leaves-  for garnishing
Red chillies  - 2
 Tempering :
 Kadugu - 1 tsp
 Method:
  In a vessel  pour the tamarind juice , add the  cut tomato, salt , rasam powder , hing, thur dal ( as it is -- not cooked  dal  ) , garlic ( optional ) and  cook  till the  raw smell of tamarind, rasam powder  vanishes .Add the required water   and allow to froth the rasam.Temper the kadugu , red chillies , curry leaves in ghee , Garnish with fresh  coriander leaves . This is  easy  and quick,  tasty rasam .
