Simple Dal fry for Chapathi :# OPOS (One pot one shot)
Yesterday I had hectic work to finish , no Dosa batter in the fridge to prepare the dinner , Upmas are secondary in my family people , only option left for me is preparing chapathi / Phulka . We need a good side dish for phulka .
I want to finish quickly too .
Here goes:
Ingredients:
Moongdal-- 1 cup
Onion --- 2
Green chilly - 3( if you want little spicy , can add more)
Turmeric powder - pinch
Salt -- to taste
Tomato - 2/3
Water - 2 cups
Temper :
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Oil --- 2 tsp
Red chilly - 2
Curry leaves --- 5/6
Method:
In a 2 l cooker take 3 tsp of oil , add in layers finely chopped onions, tomatoes , moong dal , slit green chillies , salt , turmeric powder , then add the water by the side without altering the layers and allow the cook for 3 whistles .
After opening the cooker add the tempering ( in oil temper mustard seed , slit red chillies , curry leaves ) .
This is an easy , tasty side dish dal fry for phulkas , we enjoyed with ladies finger fry and dal fry .
